My mom, who was born and currently lives in Jamaica had never experienced winter weather before. She spent the holidays with me and my husband in West Hartford, Connecticut. We got over 8 inches of snow and during the snowfall, I recorded her reaction seeing snow for the very first time at 63 years old.

A few days before Christmas, my husband and I were traveling through the airport on our way to Florida when something magical happened. I was feeling anxious about flying after a long year, when suddenly Buddy the Elf and Jovie appeared out of nowhere. At first we thought it was just airport noise, until we turned around and realized they were fully in character and spreading Christmas cheer.
